This was last years schedule:
Saturday, May 17th, 2025 (10:00am -4:00pm)

10:00am – Walk to the beach from Visitors Center
10:30 – 11:30am – Welcome with Prayers, Speakers, & Dancing at Beach
11:30 – 1:00pm – Alaadikax (Fry Bread) Available for attendees
12:00 – 12:30pm – No Host Picnic Lunch in the Fort (bring your own lunch)
12:30 – 1:00pm – Tlingit-Haida Dance Group “California Drums”
1:00 – 2:30pm – Craft Instruction begins
Octopus Bags led by Rachel Langford, Haida Artist
Harbor Seal/Sea Otter Earrings**, Anfesia Tutiakoff, Unangax Artist **you must provide proof you are an enrolled Alaska Native (tribal card, letter of enrollment) Only AK natives may work with sea otter and harbor seal.
You must pre-register for one of these crafts by emailing your interest to alaskanativedayatmetini@gmail.com (One craft per person)
2:30 – 4:00pm – Speakers and continue crafts
4:00pm – Fort Closes

Sunday, May 18, 2025 (10:00am -4:00pm)

10:00am – Walk to Cemetery from Visitors Center (30 min walk)
volunteers will drive those who need rides – please send an email to alaskanativedayatmetini@gmail.com requesting a ride
10:30 – 12:30pm – Cemetery Remembrance
1:00 – 1:30pm – No Host Picnic Lunch in the Fort (Bring your own lunch)
1:30- 4:00pm – Finishing Crafts and Socializing
4pm – Fort Closes

***Accessibility: the event will be primarily outdoors, weather permitting, with possibly an indoor component. The outdoor locations (excluding cemetery) will have seating, shade structures, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, relatively flat packed but unpaved walkways, accessible parking options for those who need it. Walk to cemetery is roughly 20 minutes each way on hilly terrain on a narrow path, there is another option to park nearby on flat location please contact email for further directions for this option. Cemetery is mostly flat and grassy, a few hundred feet from the road and limited parking, no bathroom or packed walkways, there is a bench for seating, additional seating could be arranged ahead of time if needed.***
